Stop Waiting On Your Life
Stop Waiting On Your Life. This week, as I talked to tech support over the phone, I kept thinking of things I could have done while I was waiting and not living my life.
Are you living your life "on hold"?
Are you waiting for a spouse to come along, or are you hoping that they will treat you better? Are you waiting for the inspiration to organize your home? Are you waiting for a fantastic job to come your way? Are you planning your retirement based on winning the lottery?
Stop wasting your life waiting! The only thing that sets you apart from the people who are achieving their goals is that you stopped moving while they did. Here are a few ideas to get you in the groove again.
Concentrate on who rather than what.
Try restating your goal in terms of "who am I" rather than "what I want" if you find that you've been stuck on it for some time. For instance, rather than saying, "I want to lose 30 pounds.," say, "I am a person who takes care of herself by maintaining a weight around XXX,which is a solid reach for my level and age." Attempt to be as unambiguous as possible. Pay attention to the fact that the phrase "I want to be someone who helps others" could refer to anything from a grocery store clerk to a heart surgeon. Concentrate on your ideal self. The next step is to ask yourself what actions would satisfy your desire to "be" rather than "get."
Examine it.
Did you know that 20% of your issues are caused by 20% of your life? It is real! Start working toward making your life happier, more productive, and more satisfying once you have identified the 20% of it that is affecting so much of it.
Give Value.
Not properly valuing your time, energy, money, and the "real estate" (space) of your home or office is a major error I see in my coaching clients. Realize that you have said no to other things for every thing you say yes to, from buying shoes to watching a movie. Always ask yourself if this is "valuable" enough for me to cram into my life or even take something else out of my closet, my schedule, or my money.
Create routines.
I am aware that you hold "pizza night," so why not also have "bills night" or "clean your room night"? Routines appear in your life in a variety of ways, like pizza night. Routines are actually liberating, despite their appearance of being restrictive and boring. You'll feel calm knowing that you always go to the bank on Friday afternoon and pay your bills on Wednesday, just as you won't have to worry about what to eat on pizza night or whether you forgot to pay your car insurance on Monday. evening. Routines relieve stress.
Acceptability of control.
Deniability has been talked about by political spin doctors. I would like to discuss the idea of "controlability" in your day-to-day life. You can vote, but you can't control world politics. Terrorism cannot be controlled, but you can prepare at home. On the freeway, you can't control the construction workers, but you can control how long you drive. You are in charge of your life if you know what you can control, use it, and let go of what you can't.
When you stop waiting and start making the life you really want to live, you'll start to feel good about yourself naturally. When you make decisions rather than being pushed around, you will experience less stress and frustration. Your level of self-acceptance will rise, and your efforts to improve yourself will become increasingly simple.
